Gross!
As part of our daily routine I put Hailee in the bath tub after I shower, and she plays while I start my makeup and dry my hair. She normally doesn't get into to much trouble and I am right there so ya. Well, this morning after I got done drying my hair I turned around and noticed that she had the soap dish, wonderful. Well, as I was trying to find the bar of soap I notice she has something in her mouth... She had a chunk of soap in there and was totally munching on it! I just cringed and wanted to barf for her! She seemed to enjoy it, strange child!! She likes to taste her lotion on occasion, but soap?!

Smarty Pants
Being a Mom never ceases to amaze me. Hailee learns so much every day. It just seems like she isn't even a baby anymore. She does so many new things everyday, figures out how to climb on a new piece of furniture, says a new word... Well, while I am sitting here wasting time on the computer I ususally turn on the tv to the disney channel or nickelodeon. She doesn't pay a whole lot of attention, but I figure it won't hurt her. They seem to have some pretty age appropriate things on at this time of the morning. Anyway, just this morning as I was sitting here "Go, Diego, Go" came on and she was standing in there saying Diego, Diego... I guess I just thought she didn't pay any attention.

Busy Day!
Yesterday seemed like such a busy day! I got up to start getting ready before Hailee got out of bed. I had made a hair appointment in Cody for right after lunch. I thought maybe I would try to get there soon enough to make a walmart run before so I could head home right after. Well, I did move fast enough. I met my mom in Powell a little before noon. I was hungry already, so we went into Subway and had some lunch there in Powell. After eating we headed to Cody and went to Kmart because I had a few minutes before my appointment. From there I walked over to the Cutting Room so that mom and Hailee could just drive over when they got done.
I had considered getting some highlights, but decided to just get a cut. I like the highlights, just not the maintenance... Anyways, my hair ended up a little shorter than I had intended on, but I have just had a terrible time figuring out what I want for sure. One of these days I'll end up with something I like and get the same one twice in a row :) From there we headed over to walmart. It seemed like we were in there for FOREVER! It never fails though.
Well, we finally made it out of walmart and headed for home. I was supposed to be in Byron at 4:00 for Leanne's basketball games. I would have made it if I hadn't stopped in Powell to wash my car, it was filthy dirty and I couldn't stand it anymore. Needless to say, there was a line and I was a little late for the game. We made it for a little over half though. Suz took Hailee home with her after half of the varsity girls game so Craig and I could watch the boys game. Thank you Suz!! Hailee is much happier at your house than she is at the game!! They were some really fun games to watch.
We sat at the gym in Byron until 8:30. I came home, changed my clothes, and went straight to the middle school to play basketball. It was my third week playing basketball on Thursday nights. I have really enjoyed it this year. I went several times last year, but Hailee was only like 8 weeks old and I felt entirely too uncoordinated! This year is going much better. I am feeling a LITTLE more coordinated and getting some good exercise. I am also enjoying the social part of it. I have to make a conscious effort to get out and be a little more social, so this is helping. Anyway, I didn't get home until about 10:45, and didn't wind down enough to go to bed until almost midnight, but it was a good day overall. I don't have much ambition today, but that's okay all of my chores will still be here tomorrow! I had Becca's kids for a little while this morning, so that was a good excuse too ;)

Super Bowl

It seems like we have been gearing up for the Super Bowl for a month now at our house. Craig absolutely LOVES to watch football (or almost any other sport) on tv. I like to sit down and watch one with him. I don't do two or three in a row, but one I can handle. Anyway, we were both a little disappointed because none of "our teams" made it this year, but you still have to watch! We even bought a new tv a week or two ago. Craig ended up working a whole bunch of overtime during his last pay period and that is what he wanted to do with the money. It is a little bigger than I would have chosen, but it is fun to have.
Every year since we have been married we have had someone over to watch with us. One of Craig's favorite foods is bbq beef nachos. So, I made a pot of bbq beef and got everything for nachos. We had Kevin & Chanda, Randy Puttman, and Lauren over to watch the game with us. All of the guys were going for the Cardinals, so all of us girls decided to go for the Steelers to create a little controversy. It was a lot of fun. It was a really exciting game and I ate way too much food!! All in all it was a good day for us.

Road trip!
This past weekend I got the chance to go down to Utah with my sisters, Becca and Cailee. We loaded all of our stuff and the kids up on Thursday morning and headed down to Logan. We took Cailee down to get her senior pictures taken and to go visit the Weber State campus in Ogden. It was a lot of fun to get to spend some "girl time" with them. We stayed with Becca's sister-in-law Celeste. It was so nice! Celeste also took Cailee's pictures, they turned out SOO good. She is just starting out, but does an amazing job. I got to go with them to take the pictures and it was so much fun. Celeste has the pictures posted, check them out! http://amomentwithceleste.blogspot.com
We really had a good trip, even thought I felt a little bit bad about leaving Craig home by himself all weekend. Thanks for letting us invade Celeste, we had a great time!

thoughts....
Wed. night went over to Craig's parents house to celebrate Jacob's birthday. Hailee and I decided to head over a little bit early because Craig was out working on a sled to take on his ice fishing adventures. I was excited to see Grandma Dorothy's car there when we pulled up. Hailee is generally not very fond of "older people," but she has sure taken a liking to G. Dorothy in the past few months. The party was a lot of fun, it is always really nice to visit with everyone. We got home and after I went to bed I was laying there thinking about things and how Hailee likes G. Dorothy. Dave and Suz gave me a journal for Christmas so that I can write down cute little things Hailee does or says or other thoughts. Well I had to get our of bed and write a few things down. As I was laying there I was thinking about how Hailee is when she is around Dorothy. It kind of seems like its just been since Poppa Vic died that she has become more fond of her. One of the first things Hailee did when we got there was to go over and give G. Dorothy a big hug. Then, all through out the night she would take things over to show her to just give her big slobbery kisses, it was really cute.
Now, here is my conclusion... I might be way off, who knows. We generally don't see G. Dorothy all that often; we see her at family partys and stop in for an occasional visit. I just think that little kids are so smart and VERY perceptive. I believe that Hailee must know on some level that Grandma Dorothy really needs those sweet hugs and slobbery kisses. Since Poppa Vic died it has been hard to see how lonely she has been and we have really gotten a glimpse at how much she loved him. They really were a great couple! We all really make an effort to stop in more frequently to visit and remember grandma, but we might not ever realize how much these little children understand. I know that they are wise beyond their years. I feel very blessed to be trusted with this sweet little spirit.
